Both Oxford University and associations working with the University in relation to fundraising, such as SFOU, have a legal obligation to ensure that they are not inadvertently receiving funds that are the proceeds of criminal activities. We have additional due diligence obligations when the donors are PEPs (politically exposed persons). This means that we cannot accept donations in cash and we must review every material donation before it is passed on to the University or its colleges.

So we may need your assistance to identify the sources of the funds and the beneficial owner of the monies being donated. Please don’t take it personally!
